Skolon AB
Reg. no. 556958-4120
Pirgatan 13, 374 35 Karlshamn, Sweden
Introduction
At Skolon, we are fully committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and across our supply chain.
We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and strive to conduct our business dealings and relationships ethically and with integrity. Our goal is to ensure that modern slavery does not occur anywhere in our operations or supply chains.
Our organisation
Skolon is a SaaS company founded in Sweden, with the mission to enable digital learning for all. Our platform integrates all digital systems and services used in schools, bringing together digital learning materials and tools into one place, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for teachers and students in the classroom. Our primary customers include municipal and private educational institutions in Sweden, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Our offices are located in the same countries.
The identified high risk areas for suppliers where modern slavery is more likely to take place in accordance with our supply chain, relates to IT equipment and cleaning services. Nonetheless, it’s no less important to have procedures for all areas within our operations, like recruitment and suppliers.
Relevant Policies
In line with our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking, Skolon has the following policies implemented to support this goal:
- Whistleblowing Policy
- Code of Conduct
- Anti-Corruption Policy
- Recruitment Policy
- HR Onboarding Policy
- Supplier Code
Supplier Code
As an organisation operating within EdTech, with hundreds of thousands of users, Skolon is committed to conducting its operations sustainably and ethically. Our Supplier Code, grounded in the company’s Sustainability Policy, outlines the ethical and sustainability expectations we have for our suppliers and partners.
All suppliers must adhere to this Supplier Code when carrying out assignments for Skolon and ensure that the code is communicated and followed. This applies to all suppliers providing products, personnel, or services to the company.
Key principles include:
- Preventing discrimination and victimisation while promoting tolerance and equal treatment.
- Encouraging diversity, gender equality, and equal pay for equal work.
- Providing fair working conditions and complying with national and international labour standards.
- Supporting and respecting international human rights.
- Enforcing a zero-tolerance policy towards child labour.
HR Onboarding Policy
Skolon maintains comprehensive employment-related policies and procedures that safeguard against modern slavery within our workforce.
During the application process, candidates must provide valid ‘right to work’ documentation, which is verified at the interview and offer stage. This includes an original passport or other identification and, where applicable, additional documentation verifying the candidate’s right to work.
All employees receive a contract of employment before or on their start date, in compliance with current employment legislation.
Once employed, our staff are required to adhere to all company policies, including this Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy.
ISO 27001 Certification
Being ISO 27001 certified means that an organisation has implemented a systematic and secure approach to managing information, in accordance with internationally recognized standards for information security. This certification requires the company to continuously identify, evaluate, and address risks related to data and security, while following strict processes to protect sensitive information.
In the context of our Modern Slavery Policy, ISO 27001 certification strengthens our ability to monitor and mitigate risks within our supply chain. This includes the secure and ethical handling of information related to employees, suppliers, and customers, enhancing transparency and ensuring compliance with human rights standards.
Skolon’s continued commitment
We treat any breach of our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy with the utmost seriousness.
In addition, Skolon views any breach of the Modern Slavery Act as a significant violation. If Skolon identifies any instance of modern slavery within its supply chain, we will act by notifying the authorities and terminating contracts where necessary. Due to our ISO certification, we have yearly checks on our suppliers, which makes us confident in our ability to assess and monitor risks within our business and supply chain, thereby minimising the risk of slavery and human trafficking.
We do not consider that we operate in a high-risk sector and our assessment is based on the nature of our business and our business transactions and given the policies we currently have in place.
This statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the Organisation’s actions for the 2024/2025 financial year and beyond.
This statement has been approved by the directors and signed by CEO Oliver Lundgren.
