Expanding creative learning: our partnership with WeVideo
Classrooms today may differ in many ways, but one thing they all share is imagination. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we have expanded our partnership with WeVideo – a leader in interactive video learning. From reception to post-16, WeVideo provides engaging video-based tools that empower educators and inspire students across schools and MATs across the country.
What does this mean for Skolon users?
Under our new expansion, Skolon users will have greater access to a suite of intuitive video creation and collaboration tools. Together, with WeVideo’s support, we’re advancing our mission to simplify processes for educators, enabling them to craft dynamic lessons that inspire student engagement and drive better learning outcomes.
In addition to streamlining activities in the classroom, our collaboration also simplifies workflows, reduces administrative overhead, and provides school administrators with valuable insights to enhance decision-making and resource allocation.
Here’s why our partnership with WeVideo matters:
Our expanded relationship with WeVideo gives access to an impressive suite of tools—like screen recording, green screen effects, multi-track editing, and collaborative video projects directly on our platform using single sign-on (SSO).
Emphasising this, Erik Ræstad, Managing Director of International Sales at WeVideo said:
“WeVideo has always believed in the power of video to spark creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration in the classroom,”
“By integrating our video platform with Skolon’s robust ecosystem of digital learning tools, we’re making it easier than ever for teachers to use video as a vehicle for deeper learning.”
For us, this new phase in our partnership is about giving schools the tools to elevate teaching and learning. As Sebastian Matuska, Chief Business Development Officer at Skolon, puts it:
“Partnering with WeVideo allowed us to expand our offerings while empowering schools to seamlessly integrate video-based projects into their curriculum. This collaboration reflects our shared dedication to innovation, making digital tools more accessible and enabling students to learn in engaging and impactful ways.”
By accessing WeVideo via Skolon, users can also look forward to a myriad of benefits, such as:
Seamless integration: Through Skolon, users have direct access to WeVideo’s interactive platform, reducing login barriers and administrative tasks.
Enhanced engagement: Video-creation assignments inspire creativity and collaboration, fostering an environment that develops multimedia and critical thinking skills.
Holistic management: At Skolon, we have a centralised platform that streamlines resource management, planning, and reporting for teachers and administrators. Within the platform, customers can find, try, buy and access WeVideo and other apps from our app store.
Scalable & secure: Both WeVideo and Skolon prioritise data privacy and security, ensuring a trustworthy environment for schools and MATs.
When can you expect to see WeVideo on your Skolon dashboard?
Whilst we are very excited about the new era of our partnership, it’s first being rolled out to schools in Sweden and Norway, with the UK to follow soon. This phased approach ensures that more educators and students can benefit from the expansion over time in an efficient and effective way.
