From Complicated Processes to Simplicity: Teacher Patrik on the Benefits of Purchasing via Skolon

With Skolon, it is easier than ever to find, purchase, and start using new digital learning resources and school tools. Join us as teacher Patrik shares his experiences of making purchases in Skolon – where, among others, Gleerups’ popular digital learning materials are available.
Patrik Abramsson works as a teacher at Sunnadalskolan in Karlskrona, where he teaches social studies, science, and mathematics. He is also a lead teacher, which means he helps colleagues with purchasing and selecting digital learning materials for the school – all done via Skolon.
Skolon’s library contains thousands of digital tools and learning materials, including Gleerups’ wide range. They are available for purchase as single licenses or pre-packaged tool sets.
Patrik finds it easy to navigate and search for Gleerups’ digital learning materials: – I search for the digital learning resources I need, and just as easily, I specify the number of licenses we need for the school. Most often, I purchase existing materials, and I also appreciate the function that the platform recognizes the learning materials we have previously used, so I don’t have to spend time scrolling and searching.
Patrik also shares that he usually tests Gleerups’ learning materials before purchasing, using the built-in demo function. He has tested both together with students and on his own, and with a simple button press, the tool is added to “My Collection,” ready to be used immediately.
Smoother Management of New Students with Skolon
Patrik explains that there is often a large student turnover at the school and that new students frequently start at short notice: – New students can come in very quickly. Sometimes, I find out the day before they start, and then it is a great advantage to be able to assign the license directly at the time of purchase, before an invoice has even arrived. Everything is in place when the student enters the classroom on their first day. This is one of the biggest positive differences compared to how purchases were made before.
Previously, each department had a responsible person for purchases. Teachers had to go to this person’s computer to make purchases together, or alternatively, send an email with their requests. This could become problematic if the responsible person was sick, as someone else had to be found, and only two to three people handled purchases for the entire school.
– This is one of the biggest differences since we started using Skolon – avoiding complicated processes, concludes Patrik.
