Stay tuned and we’ll tell you more!
Amazing People Schools supports schools to provide valuable opportunities for pupils to grow a deeper understanding of themselves, their character strengths and the world they are part of so they can be even more Amazing. By developing these strengths in themselves, pupils learn to enhance their own wellbeing through developing their self-efficacy. We had a chat and asked questions to Frances Corcoran, Managing Director at Amazing People Schools, to learn more.
Frances, for those who don’t know – what is Amazing People Schools?
Imagine a digital platform developed with schools to support every member of staff and to nurture every pupil, whilst adding huge value in key areas such personal development, diversity, wellbeing, cross-curricular learning and school improvement.
Amazing People Schools’ award-winning platform is backed by over 20 years of research and is powered by world-changing role models and character strengths such as creativity, perseverance, and kindness. Schools can use it to embed values and build an inspirational school culture where every young person is supported. It has been carefully designed with teachers to support schools and to thrive and grow.
Featuring both primary and secondary zones, it includes all the content, tools and resources needed, supporting an inspirational approach in many areas of school life and curriculum and helping schools embed diverse role models right across the curriculum. Research shows that developing a strengths-based approach supports positive mental health and wellbeing.
Highlighting influential figures such as Frida Kahlo, Martin Luther King Jr., and Greta Thunberg, it underscores their resilience, optimism, and perseverance as inspiring strength.
Sounds like useful tools! But how do you use it?
We work with all our schools year-round and new content, stories and resources are added throughout the year. Amazing People Schools offers whole school support for both primary and secondary schools (supporting students Early Years – 16), for both teachers and students. It features primary and secondary zones which feature differentiated content across year groups.
The Teacher Zone
With log-in details for all teachers and senior leaders included in a school subscription, teachers get access to everything they need to develop a bespoke plan of action for their school for all year groups. We know every school is different. Our planning resources are designed to help your school achieve its individual goals. Whether that be to meet School Improvement objectives, underpin your Personal Development curriculum or accurately reflect school values and mission across the curriculum, Amazing People Schools has you covered.
The Student Zone
Students have individual access to an interactive story library of Amazing People where they can read, watch, listen and learn about how these trailblazers changed the world. As they progress through the story library, students collect accessories from each Amazing Person for their own avatar. Older students receive positive social action prompts connected to the game changer they have been studying.
What possibilities are there in using your tool in teaching?
