Security in the platform
How we work with GDPR, accessibility and privacy
With certification according to ISO 27001:2022, guaranteed uptime according to SLAs and a range of functions for enhanced security and transparency, we make secure, accessible digital learning available to everyone.
Guaranteed access via SLAs
Always and everywhere
Our top priority is always our users and making digital learning accessible to everyone. We are therefore proud that during the past five years we have surpassed our SLAs, with uptime of more than 99.98%. This means that teachers and students have access to tools wherever they are and at any time, without having to remember different passwords, deal with IP locks or use specific devices.
Full transparency
An automated overview
Schools get a full overview of operational status and updates at status.skolon.com, with built-in automatic notes in the event of any incidents. This gives a full overview of a key part of the school’s technical infrastructure for IT devices, and a summary of operations and availability that many schools currently lack.

Hundreds of ready-made integrations
A reliable platform in a complex ecosystem
Skolon has ready-made integrations with more than a hundred different providers and 24/7 monitoring, every day of the year. We continuously develop these integrations together with each provider in line with the latest technology and applicable standards. This gives schools a secure, stable integration platform that is always improving within a complex ecosystem, both now and in the future.
100% European hosting
Without risk of transferring data to third countries
Since 2021, Skolon has a 100% European hosting and infrastructure solution where we use European providers of cloud services and other infrastructure only. Therefore, no data is transferred, either directly or indirectly, to third countries outside the EU. This is to ensure that we live up to the data protection requirements according to the GDPR (Schrems II).
Of course, we make the same high demands on availability and operational reliability as always. Our European suppliers live up to the highest industry standards.
A work in constant progress
A focus on information security and GDPR
Skolon’s infrastructure and technology are based on modern frameworks, and our entire development process focuses sharply on thinking about quality and information security such as data privacy and GDPR – a work in constant progress. With our certification according to ISO 27001:2022, we have clear quality and information security processes, which are an important part of ensuring a safe and secure user experience.
To ensure compliance with GDPR
Basic personal data processing functions
Skolon includes basic functionality for the systematic working methods required to ensure compliance with GDPR.
DPA-agreement
Skolon’s data processing agreement for schools
Skolon has drawn up a GDPR-compliant data processing agreement (DPA) to help schools that use Skolon to comply with the regulation. We also sign DPAs based on the standard templates produced by bodies such as the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions for schools that want to use these. The agreement ensures Skolon’s commitment to users and schools to comply with GDPR requirements. If you have any questions about this agreement, please get in touch with your Skolon contact.
