Sustainability

Our framework for today – and the future

We at Skolon want to help create the best possible conditions so that most of our users today, i.e. children and young people, will encounter a more sustainable world in the future. Read more about our sustainability work here.

Our approach to sustainability

Working towards a sustainable future

Creating real value for teachers and students in a way that contributes to better education is a fundamental part of our business concept and thus permeates everything we do. Our goal is to enable school principals to become more sustainable by using our solutions and that together, we can contribute to a sustainable transition.

We want to conduct our business in a sustainable and modern way, both through our everyday activities and through strategically informed choices in a long-term perspective. This is to help create the best possible conditions for most of our users today, i.e. children and young people, to encounter a more sustainable world in the future.

Collaboration is a core part of our work and we support research and a number of joint initiatives that create progress and development in the field of sustainability. We work in partnerships to contribute what we can, but also to learn on our own and develop ourselves in the field.

Sustainability management

Our way and work going forward

Skolon’s sustainability management is based on our vision of enabling digital learning for all, as well as our values and policies. Our sustainability framework consists of our Sustainability Strategy, Environmental Policy, Code of Conduct, Supplier Code, Quality Policy, Anti-Corruption Policy and Whistleblowing Policy. Our policies are approved annually by the Board of Directors.

Our follow-up work in this field is based on our voluntarily prepared sustainability report that will be produced from 2022 onwards, as well as our Climate Report, with the aim of guiding us in doing the right things in the right way. We have also been members of the UN Global Compact since 2022, and its principles are integrated into our policies.

The Global Goals

An opportunity to contribute

In 2015, world leaders at the United Nations agreed to 17 global goals for economic, social and sustainable development and to work towards achieving these goals by 2030. In 2022, we defined our Sustainability Strategy and mapped how we can contribute to the UN’s Global Goals. We chose to focus on 6 of them, where we believe Skolon has the greatest opportunity to contribute to positive, sustainable development.

UN Global Compact

A part of something bigger

In 2022, Skolon began developing a Sustainability Strategy and Climate Report. In connection with this, the company was accepted as a member of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, the UN Global Compact. The UN Global Compact is a valuable voice with over 16,000 participants from 164 countries. Membership in the network involves structured work linked to the UN’s 17 Global Goals and ten fundamental principles in human rights, labour rights, environment and anti-corruption.
